West Cumbrian MP Jamie Reed has issued a heartfelt thanks to all those members of the community who have sponsored him for running the London Marathon in April.
The Copeland MP has now completed his fundraising drive, and has successfully raised over £2,650 for the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
This news comes during National Diabetes Week, and one week after Jamie Reed MP spoke out in Parliament about access to care and treatment for people living with Type 1 Diabetes.
Copeland MP Jamie Reed said:
“I am delighted to have raised over £2,650 for this important charity, and I am incredibly grateful to those kind and generous people who have contributed to my effort.
“Research into working towards a world without Type 1 Diabetes is a cause very close to my heart, and together we will get there.
“For those who are interested, my time was 4:21…someone had to let Dan Jarvis beat them!”
